Stephanie Grondin

Stephanie has been dancing at OneDance Creative Art Centre for nine consecutive years, beginning in 2005 when she was 8 years old. Her passion for dance grew out of taking a single weekly ballet class to currently dancing advanced ballet, jazz, lyrical jazz, contemporary, and competitive choreography.

She is proud to be a member of the Genesis Youth Company since 2009, whose team spirit and support has always motivated her to dance to the best of her ability. They have achieved gold medal standings in competitions and have been invited to perform in special events such as the Youth Ignite Festival and Shine Gala Finale Fundraiser show.

Another of her most fulfilling experiences was performing in a challenging competitive jazz duet.  She pushed herself to connect with the dance in a way that fully encapsulated the audience to become immersed in the moment of its story.

Stephanie is in her final year of high school in the French Immersion program at Handsworth Secondary. She has consistently been on the school’s honour roll, maintaining a high level of academic achievement. In 2013, Stephanie won the Concours D’Art Oratoire (French oral speech competition) for Grade 10, representing the North Vancouver School District at the provincial finals.  Stephanie has also received service awards for volunteering to assist teachers in providing academic support for her peers.

Stephanie’s other interests include skiing, swimming, and paddle boarding. She also enjoys baking and has assisted her friends in a fundraiser bake sale for the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation.  She continues to support the Foundation by volunteering for various fundraising events.

Through being part of an encouraging community and gaining insightful instruction from her dance teachers, OneDance has been an important contribution towards building her self-confidence, poise and creativity. Being part of the OneDance community has left a lasting impression that will continue to motivate Stephanie to strive for the best, both as a dancer and personally in her future endeavours.
