Taylor Sacre / Featured Dancer
Taylor Sacré has been dancing at OneDance since they opened their doors 12 years ago. Currently, she is 17 years old and in her Grade 12 year of high school. Over the years, OneDance has become a home where she has met many of her best friends and created great memories.
Taylor has trained with OneDance in a variety of dance styles including ballet, pas de deux, novelty, jazz, contemporary and hip hop, though her favourites have always been acrobatics and musical theatre. Taylor fell in love with performing at a young age and has always jumped at the opportunity to explore new areas of the performing-arts world.
Taylor has also been involved in many performing arts and music programs outside of OneDance. She has played tenor saxophone in her school’s jazz band for 8 years, and has been involved in the Musical Theatre and Drama programs offered at her school, Carson Graham Secondary, since Grade 8. Additionally, in the summer of 2012, Taylor took part in Kay Meek Theatre’s “Theatre K Summer Youth Conservatory” where she had the opportunity to play a lead role “Rusty” in their production of “Footloose.”
Outside of Performing, Taylor is involved with a multitude of school-based, and community activities. She has been involved with her school’s Global Initiatives program for the last 3 years, where she has had the opportunity to participate in service trips both to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. She and her school teams have built a total of 5 houses and 1 dental clinic addition for people in need. Taylor has received service awards such as the Carson Graham “Spirit of the Eagle award,” a 200 hour service plaque, and a North Vancouver Civic Youth award for her community involvement and service with TAP Bottles (Together Against Plastic Bottles,) Free the Children, Global Initiatives, and other community events.
In the later years, Taylor hopes to work in 3rd world countries dealing with health and sustainability issues, though she will always have a passion for performing.
